Check your. That's often the problem in my experience. There is a problem with the rest that i dont know which section belongs to which header.
Your data has a semi-colon separator your actual data has lots of comas in it. Change your input line to this and it should work:. Your header is actually not comma separated.
Do head -1 allComplxes. Please look at it. I've only checked the header, didn't load into R. Open in google spreadsheet and you'll come to know how many fields are actually comma separated. Edit whole file with some bash commands then load it into R. Would you mind letting me know what is different between your output and my solution? Yours is obviously more elegant, but being new to R i'd really like to know if my solution does not work, and why that would be.

I'm going to have to solve this same issue as I implement this solution. General CSV format would probably have quotes around any column "value" that includes a comma. Knowing that, I am going to focus on the following line of code for a way to find all such instances of data enclosed in quotes with a comma that follows.
I'd be glad to collaborate on the solution and have checked the Notify Me box. Excellent article - this will assist me with several issues of "Random Data Formats" that my partners are sending me. As will be shown below, this error message can be encountered when creating a view, refreshing a view definition, using a row constructor or table-value constructor or when using a common table expression or CTE.
This error message can also be encountered in a previously created view as illustrated in the following script:. Similarly, if the view is refreshed using the [dbo].
Another way of encountering this error message is with the use of row constructor or table-valued constructor as derived table. The following script illustrates how this error message may be generated with a row constructor or table-valued constructor:.
As can be seen from the row constructor, the values list contains values for 2 columns but the columns list only contains 1 column name. Lastly, this error message can also be encountered when using common table expressions CTE. The following script illustrates how this error can be generated when using a common table expression:. As can be seen from this script, there are 4 columns in the [dbo].
From the different ways of generating this error message, the common in all of them is the mismatch in the number of columns specified in a column list and in the number of columns specified in the column values. In the first scenario, there are a few ways of avoiding this error message. The first method is to provide the correct number of columns in the column list when defining the view:. This method is used if not all columns from the source table or tables are needed by the view:.
These same methods can be applied to the second scenario that generates this error message. In the second scenario, this error occurs when a new column is added to a table that participates in a view. Here are the three ways of overcoming this error:. In the case of the row constructor or table-valued constructor, the error can easily be overcome by supplying a column name for each column value present in the constructor:. Lastly, in the case of the common table expression CTEthe same methods used in the views earlier can be applied to this scenario, as can be seen in the following scripts:.
